    Baseball s program, formally known as the Character Rebate Allowance Score System, or CRASS, is modeled after the federal government s "cash for clunkers." In baseball s version, players are provided with up to $45,000 for the purchase of a new, untainted, upstanding, controversy-free reputation provided the trade-in is old enough, qualifies as ethically challenged, and is not named Pete Rose.
