It was advisable, if not necessary, to run it right at people in the still celebrated Age of Walter Payton; "Sweetness" was a once-in-a-lifetime marvel whose unique blend of talent, will and effort came to define Chicago Bears football, as much as much as Mike Ditka, as much as Dick Butkus, as much as George Halas himself. And in fairness, the Bears' legacy at the running back position -- Payton, Sayers, Galimore, Nagurski, Grange -- is as illustrious as their quarterbacking history is bleak. Only nine other coaches have spent more time with one team than Fisher with 240 games, and that list includes such great coaches as George Halas, Tom Landry, Don Shula, Chuck Noll, Curly Lambeau and Joe Gibbs. Here in Chicago, Cutler has been greeted with a heros welcome since he has a chance to be the franchises first difference maker at the games most important position since Sid Luckman was under center for George Halas. After a shaky start in Buffalo, he was terrific in his Soldier Field debut this past Saturday: 8 of 13 passing for 121 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. (BearReport.com)
